Developmental Stages and What to Expect!

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

Do you ever wonder “Is my child on target developmentally”? It can be hard to know because every child can be so different If you notice that your child seems delayed or advanced it’s important to address that so they are getting exactly what they need. Do not ignore that little voice in your head that says “I need to look into this…” The sooner you address the issue the better it won’t go away on its own.

1.Talk to the pediatrician. Make sure to ask them specific questions and give them specific concerns. It can be hard for them to know how to help if you are not clear

.

2.Meet with a child therapist or child psychologist Schedule a meeting with a professional that knows kids and has gone to school to learn about child development. Make sure you choose someone who has experience and knowledge. Check out their bio, website and look at reviews.

3.Talk to a teacher Teachers work with kids all day so they will know if your child is not moving along like the others. Listen to them and then do what is needed for your child to help them.

4.Start to research on your own If you decide to take this step make sure you are reading articles or books with researched-based ideas. Not everyone on the internet or that publishes a book knows what they are talking about.

Let me know what you think. I would love to hear how you have helped your child if they seemed delayed or advanced. Also, don't forget to join my Facebook group for more tips and ideas to help your family become happier and healthier!
